Overview:

Zuma Woods Wetland Mitigation Bank is a 103-acre site located adjacent to Zuma Creek (a Perennial Creek) within the North Service Area in the Lower Rock Watershed in Rock Island County, Illinois. The bank site will benefit the watershed as agricultural and highway runoff will be filtered as it flows across the Bank site. Occasional floodwaters from Silver Creek will be filtered in the established wetlands, which will also store flood waters and provide substantial wildlife benefits. Zuma Woods Wetland Mitigation Bank was approved by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Rock Island District in October 2023 for a potential of 93.90 wetland credits of which 17.45 will be Emergent and 76.45 will be Forested. The mitigation plan includes the restoration and enhancement of forested and emergent wetland habitats.
